So out of the dozens of characters created by LJ, why on earth did I choose to do a Stefan Salvatore shrine? The answer is twofold....

First of all, Stefan Salvatore has been my *favorite* character ever since I finished reading The Awakening. He was so incredibly three-dimensional; his pain was so poignant and so real. He was the very picture of the two qualities I hold to be most important: sincerity and loyalty. If he vowed to do something, his word was as good as a written contract signed in blood. His love and respect carried beyond life and he never said anything that he didn't believe. He held firm to his values even when it cost him a lot, and that takes a lot of strength of character. He was capable of such great empathy and respect for the people around him. He was kind. He was intelligent. He was chivalrous. He was fabulous. Someone I'd like to know and like to be more like.

Which is exactly why I can't understand how *quiet* Stefan fans are (part two of my Why Stefan essay ^^). I know we're out there, I've talked to some of them. But for some reason, they seem to be afraid to speak over the Damon fanatics. He's such an under-appreciated character... LOL I could go on and on about why I think THAT is, but there's no reason to alienate a lot of my audience. So this shrine is to promote Stefan appreciation and to give Stefan fans everywhere a solid place to stand.
