When I first opened this shrine in January, I avoided writing a series summary because I disliked doing it and didn't feel it was that important to focus on the entire series for a character shrine. But then I ended up having to do a write up of The Vampire Diaries anyway for Joyland Park, so there seemed little reason to not post it here as well. It's not a full play-by-play of the series, because personally, I don't like to do that so long as the book is still available to purchase and then read. I could never do proper justice to LJ's work anyway. It has major spoilers for the first novel, but only mild ones for the rest of the series. If you're okay with that, you may go here to read a summary for the series, if not just enjoy reading the back cover text that you'll find below.
And yes ::grimaces:: I did have to use the rereleased book covers. My originals are just too creased and worn to scan, but as a deranged LJ fan, I had bought the new editions when they came out in '98 and they're in much better condition. I still had to do some retouching on the scans though. I can't help it, I'm really careless with my belongings. ^^
